Las tribulaciones del cambio: Estrategias argumentativas en el debate del balotaje presidencial argentino

Abstract

Este artículo analiza las estrategias argumentativas desplegadas por los candidatos Daniel Scioli y Mauricio Macri en el debate televisivo antes del balotaje por el cargo de Presidente de la República Argentina. Se divide en dos secciones: la primera considera los modos en que los presidenciables conjugaron en sus argumentos su trayectoria política, la situación actual del país y las perspectivas a futuro, y cómo estas referencias se articulan en pos de favorecer la imagen propia y perjudicar la del rival. La segunda sección indaga las estrategias de los candidatos para definir su posición respecto del oficialismo. Los resultados de la investigación indican estrategias que difieren, en primer lugar, por el modo en que representan el futuro, y, en segundo lugar, por la inclusión o exclusión del candidato oficialista en el colectivo de identificación del gobierno entonces en ejercicio.

This paper analyzes the argumentative strategies deployed by the candidates Daniel Scioli and Mauricio Macri in the televised debate before the ballot for the office of President of the Argentine Republic. It is divided into two sections: the first one considers the ways in which the candidates combined in their arguments their political careers, an analysis of the current situation of the country and future prospects, with the purpose of favoring one’s own image and damaging that of the rival. The second section explores the strategies of the candidates to define their position with respect to the ruling party. The results of the research indicate different strategies with regard to how the future is represented, in the first place, and a struggle to demonstrate how close Daniel Scioli was to the government then in exercise.
