dc.description.abstract
The problem of designing an optical interface surface separating two media with different refractive indices that focuses monochromatic collimated radiation, from a plane domain Ω so that each ray has a prescribed destination in Ω′ lying in 3d-space, is locally solved. Similar questions are also considered for reflection. The surface solutions satisfy first order PDEs.
