dc.description.abstract
The article proposes the analysis of Latin American abstraction not from a peripheral point of view --as usually Latin American Avant-Garde movements are analyze-- but considering the simultaneous process that considers Post World War II as a historical mark that created in different parts of the world (including Latin America) the perception of a historical beginning. From that perspective, avant-gardes were not derivative, but inaugural of new poetics only understandable from local and situated positions. The essay was published both in English and German.
