La Idea según Gilles Deleuze: Una aproximación desde el cálculo diferencial

Abstract

Este artículo intenta explicar el concepto de Idea de Gilles Deleuze a partir de la interpretación que este filósofo hace del cálculo diferencial. Defenderemos la tesis de que este uso de herramientas matemáticas debe entenderse en el contexto de la filosofía trascendental deleuziana, conocida como “empirismo trascendental”. Esto implica, por un lado, la reconstrucción del sentido del planteo trascendental de Deleuze en comparación con el de Kant, y el rol que las matemáticas juegan en ese planteo; por otro lado, la descripción de la Idea –principio filosófico del empirismo trascendental– tal como es estructurada en Diferencia y repetición a partir de los momentos del cálculo diferencial: dx, dy/dx, valores de dy/dx. Desde estos tres momentos, se articulan los tres aspectos –lógico, ontológico y trascendental– de la Idea, de acuerdo al proceso virtual que permite explicar la génesis de las determinaciones del mundo actual. Realizamos esta descripción mostrando la relación interna entre los momentos, bajo la convicción de que la caracterización matemática de la Idea deleuziana presenta una visión alternativa a la tradición metafísica que piensa la Idea a partir de la lógica proposicional, superando problemas inherentes a esta concepción y enriqueciendo la noción de Idea.

This article attempts to explain Gilles Deleuze’s concept of “Idea” based on his interpretation of the differential calculus. We support the thesis that this use of mathematical tools must be understood in the context of Deleuze’s transcendental philosophy, known as “transcendental empiricism”. This implies, on the one hand, rebuilding the significance of Deleuze’s transcendental position in contrast with Kant’s, and the role that mathematics plays in that position; and on the other hand, describing the Idea –the philosophical principle of transcendental empiricism– as it is structured in Difference and repetition, according to the moments of the differential calculus: dx, dy/dx, values of dy/dx. From these three moments, the three aspects –logical, ontological and transcendental– of the Idea are articulated according to the virtual process that helps to explain the genesis of determinations in the actual world. We will carry out this description by showing the internal relation between these three moments, with the conviction that the mathematical characterization of the deleuzian Idea presents an alternative view to the metaphysical tradition, which thinks the Idea based on propositional logic, overcoming inherent problems of this tradition and enhancing the notion of Idea.
