Materialismo histórico, ciencia y tecnología: Apuntes para una teoría crítica de la ciencia desde el desierto verde argentino

Abstract

Este artículo retoma parte del análisis presente en El Capital centrado en la relación ciencia, tecnología y capitalismo. La tesis que plantea es que el análisis realizado por Marx de la organización del trabajo bajo el capitalismo puede leerse en una clave análoga para analizar la organización social de la ciencia y la tecnología en la actualidad. En particular, en razón de la des-humanización que acompaña su desarrollo en el marco capitalista. Con el objetivo de analizar críticamente condiciones vigentes de la producción científica y tecnológica, se revisa este enfoque a la luz de dos problemáticas. Por un lado, recuperar aspectos del pensamiento marxista sobre el rol de la ciencia y la tecnología y ponerlos en diálogo con otros trabajos que han indagado en las relaciones entre ciencia, tecnología y sociedad. Por otro, repensar su articulación con el escenario argentino, problematizando el rol que ocupan los conocimientos científicos y tecnológicos en el actual esquema productivo orientado al agronegocio. Finalmente, se reflexiona sobre la profundización de una ciencia empresarial y la necesidad de fomentar abordajes críticos que cuestionen sus presupuestos e implicancias sociales y ambientales.

this article builds on some parts of the analysis presented by Marx in The Capital regarding the relationship between science, technology andcapitalism. its main proposal is that the lessons made by the author regarding the organization of work under a capitalist regime can be extended to analyze the social organization of science and technology nowadays. particularly, in virtue of the dehumanization that follows its development in a capitalist framework. With the aim of critically analyzing current conditions of scientific and technological production, this approach is reviewed in light of two problems. on the one hand, we recover underexplored aspects of Marxist thought and put them in dialogue with others works which have investigated the relationship between science, technology and society. on the other hand, we explore the articulation with the latin american scenario, particularly the argentine one, questioning the role played by scientific and technological knowledge in the current agricultural production scheme oriented towards agribusiness. Finally, we reflect on the extension and depth of commodity-centered science and the need to promote critical approaches that question its assumptions and social and environmental implications.
