La Edad Media en las tierras del Plata: A propósito del medievalismo en la Argentina

Abstract

Los estudios sobre "la Edad Media" en Argentina tuvieron inicio a principios del siglo XX gracias a la decisión de política educativa que fomentaba las Humanidades en el currículo universitario. Dicho ideario se instrumentó mediante la contratación de profesores extranjeros (españoles, en su gran mayoría) para dirigir los incipientes institutos de las universidades y para formar una "escuela filológica argentina", a la vez que, con el apoyo oficial, se creaban publicaciones que permitían la difusión del trabajo realizado y el intercambio con otros centros homólogos del mundo

Studies on Middle Ages in Argentine began at the turn of XXth century as a result of the education policy which promoted Humanities in the university currículum. Those ideas were instrumented calling foreign professors (Spaniards, mainly) to supervise the incipients university institutes and to create an "argentine philological school". At the sarne time, with the oflicial support, it were created publications to diffuse resulting works and to allowed the interchange with other similar academies of the world
