Transición agroecológica en producciones extensivas de la región semiárida pampeana argentina

Abstract

En Argentina existen escasas referencias de producciones agroecológicas extensivas en regiones semiáridas,por lo que muchas veces son consideradas inviables. El escaso apoyo institucional, los conflictos generadospor intereses económicos y políticos y la falta de investigación de los organismos de Ciencia yTecnología nacionales dificultan la continuidad y difusión de prácticas alternativas al sistema de producciónpredominante. Es por ello que este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar una experiencia de transición haciasistemas con enfoque agroecológico en el suroeste de la región pampeana argentina, sistematizar la informacióny documentar un antecedente bajo condiciones extensivas para esta área. Durante el año 2016 serealizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a diversos actores sociales involucrados en la experiencia. La transiciónagroecológica presentó importantes diferencias con el sistema productivo actual, como el aumento de laganadería y mayor complejidad de los sistemas productivos. Esta mayor complejidad se basa en la consociaciónde cultivos, inclusión de ganadería de ciclo completo, modificación de sistemas parcelarios, inclusión deapicultura, disminución de uso de antiparasitarios y mayor consideración de los ciclos naturales de nutrientes.

In Argentina there are few references on extensive agroecological productions in semi-arid regions, this is why most of them are often considered unfeasible. The lack of institutional support and the conflicts generated by different economic and political interests make if difficult to continue and disseminate alternative practices to the traditional production systems. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze and agroecological transition experience in the southwest on the Argentinean pampean region, to systematize the information and to generate a scientific background of extensive agroecological transition for this area. During the year 2016, semi-strutured interviews were carried out with different social actors involved in the experience. The agroecological transition presented important differences with the currect productive system, such as the increase of livestock production and a greater complexity of the productive systems in relation to the dominant system. This greater complexity is based on the consociation of crops, the inclusion of full-cycle livestock, the modification of farm systems, the inclusion of beekeeping, the reduction of the use of antiparasitic agents and greater consideration of natural cycles.
