In this paper, we delve into the characteristics of the transfer of the residents ofConcepcion del Bermejo to the city of Corrientes (River Plate) from 1630. For variousreasons, including some linked to the advancement of the Chaco ethnic groups thatcenter colonial city that belonged to the government of Buenos Aires was abandonedin the early seventeenth century. Neighbors with their families and entrusted Indiansbegan a journey to the nearest town: Corrientes. We are interested in inquiring aboutthe circumstances in which this mobilization of neighbors and Indians entrustedperformed. We wonder among other things why the Indians accompanied theirencomenderos in this transfer, rather than stay in their villages? How he received thecity to which they migrated and what were the chances of insertion of the neighborsand people in a society already organized and their peculiarities? What characteristicsdid the lives of Indians who migrated to the new city? There are several sourceslocated in different repositories that will bring us closer to some answers from Indianstandards and neighbors, visits, capitular acts and other documents that reflect thevicissitudes and peculiarities of the transfer.Keywords: encomiendas, ethnic chaqueñas, century XVII, corrientes
