De la derrota crear primavera. Movimientos sociales latinoamericanos, en la década del ?90. Construyendo poder popular. El caso de la SeLViP

Abstract

La Secretaría Latinoamericana de Vivienda Popular (SeLViP) nuclea diversas organizaciones latinoamericanas de construcción autogestionaria del hábitat. La tomamos como caso para aportar nuevos insumos al estudio de la construcción de identidades, estrategias y prácticas concretas de las organizaciones sociales en el contexto de imposición del neoliberalimo. Nos basamos en el material producido por la SeLViP y las organizaciones que la integran, testimonios directos de los protagonistas de dichas experiencias y material académico que brinde marco teórico a la investigación de los movimientos sociales latinoamericanos.

The Latin-American ministry of low income housing (SeLViP) gathers different Latin-American self-managed organizations of construction of dwelling. We use this as a case to contribute with new material for the study of the construction of identities, strategies and concrete practice of the social organizations in the context in which neoliberalism imposes itself. We based our work on the material produced by the SelViP and the organizations that take part in it, direct testimonies of the protagonists of this experiences and academic material that gives theoretical frame to the investigation of the Latin-American social movements.
