Narración y construcción histórica en Walter Benjamin

Abstract

El presente trabajo busca poner en relación las nociones benjaminianas de narración, «experiencia auténtica» y construcción histórica. El objetivo es mostrar la importancia de esta relación y exponer el rol que Benjamin le asigna al «historiador materialista». Frente al mundo burgués, de la mera individualidad, la noción ilustrada de progreso-lineal y la producción histórica historicista, Benjamin busca que el «historiador materialista» genere una nueva forma de ver la historia y las experiencias humanas. El abordaje de los conceptos antedichos permitirá clarificar la noción de «progreso» que Benjamin propone.

This paper seeks to relate the Benjaminian notions of narrative, «authentic experience» and historical construction. This study tries to show the importance of this relationship and expose the role that Benjamin assigned to the «materialistic historian». Against the bourgeois world from the mere individuality, the illustrated notion of lineal-progress, and historical production of the historicism, Benjamin seeks the «materialistic historian» generate a new way of looking at history and human experience. The approach of the above concepts will clarify the notion of «progress» that Benjamin proposes.
