Latin America’s Leaders

Abstract

This book analyses political leaders in Latin America looking specifically at five countries: Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay and Venezuela. Based on a three year research project and 400 interviews with politicians, it analyses national political conditions that explain the emergence of different type of leaders and highlights the impact that leaders can have on how well democracy works.
