O mundo em tempos de pandemia: certezas, dilemas e perspectivas

Abstract

A pandemia do COVID-19 causou uma profunda crise que mudou a dinâmica econômica, social, política e cultural do mundo em poucas semanas. Diante dessa crise, os governos responderam de diferentes maneiras e essas diferenças expressaram opções de políticas públicas que geraram efeitos diferentes. Em alguns casos, as crises pioraram e, em outros, foi possível mitigar seus estragos e as múltiplas desigualdades que se aprofundaram. Da mesma forma, as respostas à pandemia e a dinâmica da crise geraram várias análises de intelectuais em todo o mundo. Essas análises diferentes provocaram debates e respostas cruzadas para analisar a pandemia e a sociedade que surgirão depois dela. Neste artigo, propomos entender e interpretar as dimensões sociais, políticas e econômicas da pandemia, para poder refletir sobre as várias causas da crise e as disputas que existem em torno de suas possíveis superações. O texto apresentará certezas, dilemas, paradoxos e hipóteses propostas como disparadores da reflexão coletiva.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused a deep crisis that changed the world's economic, social, political and cultural dynamics in a few weeks. Faced with this crisis, governments responded in different ways and these differences expressed public policy options that had different effects. In some cases, the crises worsened, and, in others, it was possible to mitigate their damage and the multiple inequalities that deepened. Likewise, responses to the pandemic and the dynamics of the crisis have sparked various analyzes by intellectuals around the world. These different analyzes provoked debates and crossresponses to analyze the pandemic and the society that will emerge after it. In this paper, we propose to understand and interpret the social, political and economic dimensions of the pandemic, in order to reflect on the various causes of the crisis and the disputes that exist over its possible overcoming.
