Entre la totalidad y el fragmento: Un diálogo entre György Lukács y Walter Benjamin

Abstract

El legado lukácsiano resuena en los escritos del escritor berlinés Walter Benjamin, y al mismo tiempo, el legado benjaminiano se hace presente en la obra tardía del filósofo húngaro. Sobre este presupuesto trazaremos un posible diálogo entre ambos autores que tendrá dos momentos preponderantes. Por un lado, y atendiendo a la impronta lukácsiana en los escritos de Walter Benjamin, nos detendremos en realizar una sucinta comparación de las dos formas literarias que se mencionan en sus respectivas obras. En György Lukács aparece la novela como la forma que representa por antonomasia el mundo moderno y en Walter Benjamin el arte de narrar como aquel relato que nos traslada a la experiencia misma, pero que se ha perdido producto de la irrupción de la técnica en la vida del hombre y de acontecimientos sociohistóricos que incidieron en su constitución subjetiva. Aunque formas insospechadas pueden aflorar como reaparición de la misma. En ambos casos, trataremos de dar cuenta de las potencialidades, límites y cruces que la novela y la narración encierran, y cuáles son sus implicancias filosófico-políticas.Por otro lado, y en relación a la obra tardía del filósofo húngaro, ahondaremos en algunas cuestiones de su Ontología y de su Estética a fin de desarrollar sus principales lineamientos y realizar una sucinta comparación con el filósofo berlinés.

The Lukacsian legacy resonates in the writings of the Berlin writer Walter Benjamin, and at the same time, Benjamin's legacy is present in the Hungarian philosopher later work. On this assumption, we shall trace a possible dialogue between the two authors with two overriding moments. On the one hand, and considering Lukacs’ mark on the writings of Walter Benjamin, we shall make a brief stop to compare the two literary forms mentioned in their respective works. György Lukács’ novel appears as the quintessential form representing the modern world and Walter Benjamin's narration as the tale that takes us to experience itself, but that has been lost as a consequence of the emergence of skills in man’s life and socio-historical events affecting its subjective constitution. Even though unexpected forms can emerge as it reappears. In both cases, we shall try to give account of the potentialities, boundaries, and crossovers the novel and the narration contain, and what their philosophical and political implications are. On the other hand, in relation to the late work of the Hungarian philosopher, we shall delve into some issues of his Ontology and Aesthetics to develop its main guidelines and make a brief comparison with the Berlin philosopher.
