A N-heterocyclic olefin (NHO), a terminal alkeneselectively activates aromatic C-F bonds without the need of anyadditional catalyst. As a result, a straightforward methodology wasdeveloped for the formation of different fluoroaryl substituted alkenesin which the central carbon-carbon double bond is in a twistedgeometry.
