Ética y literatura concentracionaria. Estado de la cuestión y construcción metafórica en el Laberinto mágico de Max Aub

Abstract

El artículo se ocupa de revisar la noción de memoria, la cuestión del deber, la utilidad y las modalidades del discurso respecto de la temática concentracionaria, para luego analizar una obra borderline, como El laberinto mágico (Max Aub 1943, 1945, 1951 1963, 1965 y 1968) 2 . El conjunto de los ―campos‖ que componen la obra, si bien de autoría española, traza semánticas transnacionales que recuperan los contextos no solo de la guerra civil sino de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Pretendemos analizar temática y narratológicamente las funciones de estos textos dentro de la llamada literatura concentracionaria, es decir, aquellas narrativas que construyen el relato de los ―campos‖ y que, según Sánchez Zapatero, implica un tipo especial de género que remite a una experiencia concreta y traumática que ―(…) más allá de mostrar y denunciar la inhumanidad y el horror, intenta convertirse en memoria activa a través de la interacción con el lector en busca de reacciones condenatorias.‖ (31). Nuestra hipótesis observa que la figura del laberinto es clave para articular una fuga a la imaginación que destruye gran parte de los postulados realistas a los que la crítica recurre para caracterizar este tipo de literatura.

The article deals with a review of the notion of memory, connected to the question of duty, the usefulness and modalities of speech, and then analyze a borderline work like El laberinto mágico (Max Aub 1943, 1945, 1951, 1963 and 1968). The whole ―fields‖, although being authored by a spanish author, plotted transnational semantic contexts to recover not only the civil war but the Second World War. We analyze the subject and narrative functions of these works within the ―concentrationary literature‖, ie, those narratives that construct the story of the ―fields‖ which, according to Sánchez Zapatero, involves a special kind of genre which refers to a specific and traumatic experience that ―(...) beyond show and denounce the inhumanity and horror, tries to become active memory through the interaction with the reader in search of negative reaction.‖ (2010: 31). Our hypothesis observes that the metaphorical figure of the labyrinth is the key to articulate an escape to the imagination that destroys great part of the realistic postulates to which the critique occurs resorts to characterize this type of literature.
