Una propuesta archivística puesta en marcha. Cultura material de sitios serranos, provincia de Catamarca.

Abstract

En el presente informe se pone en marcha una propuesta archivística que utiliza el concepto uacuma (Unidad Archivística de Cultura Material) diseñado y definido por Nastri (2014). Una uacuma consiste en una unidad física que contiene la cultura material asociada a la información arqueológica permitiendo, de este modo, resguardar el vínculo entre el objeto físico y su información contextual (contexto de hallazgo y de destino), así como de registro y análisis (Nastri 2014). En este caso, se aplica su uso a los fines de organizar la cultura material obtenida a partir de los trabajos de campo realizados por el Proyecto Arqueológico Sierra del Cajón (PASC). Este formato archivístico se pone en práctica con la colección procedente de 27 sitios emplazados en la Sierra del Cajón en el sector medio del Valle de Santa María en la actual provincia de Catamarca. En este volumen se publica la primera parte del catálogo de cultura material confeccionado por el PASC. Las primeras 25 uacumas, aquí presentadas, representan una parte de los materiales arqueológicos obtenidos en una decena de campañas arqueológicas llevadas a cabo entre 1991 y 2010. El resultado de las recolecciones superficiales y excavaciones estratigráficas, producto de las incursiones a la Sierra del Cajón entre los años 1991 y 2012 se encuentra archivado en un total de 119 uacumas. Asimismo, se acompaña el catálogo con una breve descripción del contexto en el cual se recuperaron los materiales culturales, brindando al lector la información necesaria para una mejor comprensión del mismo. Se considera que el catálogo y el informe constituyen un soporte apropiado que permite tanto resguardar el vínculo entre el contexto de hallazgo y su destino final como promover y facilitar su uso y consumo para el resto de la comunidad.

An archival proposal is brought into scene in this report by the concept of uacuma (Archival Material Culture Unit) designed and defined by Nastri (2014). A uacuma consists in a physical unit that holds material culture associated to archaeological information, allowing, this way, the guard of the tie between the physical object and its contextual information (finding and final context), of registration and analysis (Nastri 2014). In this case, it use apply to the aim of cultural material organization obtained from the field work by the Sierra del Cajón Archaeological Project (PASC). This archival format is taken to practice upon the collection proceeding from 27 sites emplaced in the Sierra del Cajón in the middle area of the Santa María Valley in the current Catamarca province. This volume publishes the first part of the material culture catalog created by the PASC. The first 25 uacumas submitted here represent a portion of archaeological materials obtained in a dozen archaeological seasons carried out between 1991 and 2009. The result of surface surveys and stratigraphic excavations, product of the Sierra del Cajón raids that took place between the years 1991 and 2012, are archived in a total of 119 uacumas. Also, a brief description of the context in which material culture and organic remains were recovered is attached to the catalog, providing the lector all information needed for its better understanding. It is consider that the catalog and the report constitute a proper pillar that allows, both, the guard of the tie between the finding context and its final destination and promote and easy its use and uptake for the rest of the community.
