Análisis ambiental de la zona de playa y médanos de la localidad de Puerto Madryn, provincia del Chubut, Argentina

Abstract

Se analizó la morfología de la zona de playa y médanos (el área de interfase entre la tierra y el mar) de la zona costera de la población de Puerto Madryn y la interacción entre las actividades que allí se realizan. Para ello, se estudiaron aproximadamente 4 km de costa, a lo largo de los cuales asienta la principal urbanización del ejido de Puerto Madryn. Mediante observaciones de gabinete usando fotografias aéreas de los años 1971, 1983 y 1995 y tareas de campo realizadas durante el año 2005, se determinó una notable pérdida de la zona de playa, con el concomitante avance del mar. Ello es consecuencia del manejo inadecuado que se ha hecho de la zona mediante la destrucción de los médanos y la remoción de los materiales de playa para la construcción de restaurantes, bares, negocios de náutica, playas de estacionamiento, desagües pluviales, cloacales, actividades con lanchas y tractores, extracción de arena al limpiar la playa de algas, el constante pisoteo de los turistas, etc. Por otro lado edificios de más de tres pisos de alto construidos paralelos a la costa no permiten la restitución de la arena hacia la playa desde el continente mediante los vientos predominantes del sector oeste. Por último, se brinda una serie de recomendaciones para evitar un mayor deterioro de la zona de playa.

It was analyzed the morphology of the beach area and dunes (the interface area between the earth and the sea) of Puerto Madryn's population's coastal area and the interaction among the activities that there are carried out. For it, they were studied 4 km of coast approximately, along which he/she settles the main urbanization of Puerto Madryn's public land. By means of laboratory observations using air photographs of the years 1971, 1983 and 1995 and field tasks carried out during the year 2005, a remarkable loss of the beach area was determined, with the concomitant advance of the sea. It is it consequence of the inadequate handling that has been made of the area by means of the destruction of the dunes and the removal of the beach materials for the construction of restaurants, bars, business of nautical, parking beaches, pluvial drainages, cloacales, activities with boats and tractors, extraction of sand when cleaning the beach of algae, the constant trample of the tourists, etc. On the other ha nd buildings of more than three floors of high built parallel to the coast they don't a llow the restitution of the sand toward the beach from the continent by means of the predominant winds of the sector west. Lastly, you offers a series of recommendations to avoid a bigger deterioration of the beach area.
