El acertijo de la profesión de fe puramente civil: Religión y política en Rousseau

Abstract

El objetivo del presente escrito es recorrer el capítulo en torno a la religión civil que concluye el Contrato Social de Rousseau deteniéndonos en cuatro puntos que creemos esenciales: a) la relación entre la trascendencia y la inmanencia, b) la relevancia de las creencias y sentimientos en el espacio de lo político, c) el problema de las religiones históricas, d) los límites y alcance de la tolerancia. A lo largo de este camino esperamos demostrar que este último ladrillo es la parte esencial que necesariamente cierra la construcción política de Rousseau y no un apartado que atente contra el espíritu de su pensamiento.

The aim of this paper is to go through the chapter on the civil religion that concludes the Social Contract of Rousseau by stopping at four points that we believe are essential:a) the relationship between transcendence and immanence, b) the relevance of beliefs and feelings in the space of politics, c) the problem of historical religions, d) the limits and scope of tolerance.Along this path we hope to demonstrate that this last brick is the essential part that necessarily closes the political construction of Rousseau and not a section that threatens the spirit of his thought
