Los trabajadores agropecuarios transitorios en algunas regiones extrapampeanas de Argentina. ¿Mercados de trabajo migrantes o locales?

Abstract

El objetivo general de este trabajo es analizar distintos mercados de trabajo agropecuarios argentinos respecto a la oferta y demanda de mano de obra transitoria. Se busca analizar los procesos sociales que dan origen y explican la conformación de mercados de trabajo tanto aquellos que se configuran acudiendo a trabajadores migrantes como los que tienden a establecer a los asalariados en el ámbito local. Específicamente se consideran los orígenes de los jornaleros, incluyendo sus trayectorias laborales individuales y familiares, los vínculos residenciales y las movilidades cotidianas. Suele sostenerse que los mercados estacionales altamente demandantes de trabajadores cubren sus requerimientos con trabajadores migrantes "golondrinas". A través del estudio de cinco mercados de trabajo agropecuarios argentinos, en diferentes regiones del país, se pone en cuestión este supuesto, buscando evidenciar la existencia de ciertos dispositivos sociales y políticos que tienden a asentar a dichos trabajadores y asegurarse la oferta en forma local.

The main propose of this paper is to analyze different agricultural and livestock labor markets from Argentina, regarding the offer and demand of transitory laborers. It looks for to the social processes that give rise to and explains the conformation of the labor markets, both the ones that are configured occupying migrant laborers and the ones that tend to settle the employees in a local area. Specifically, it is considered the worker’s origin, including their individual and family labor trajectories, the residential ties and the daily movements. It is usually stated that the seasonal markets with high demand of laborer cover their requirements with “golondrina” migrants. Through the study of five agricultural and livestock labor markets, in different regions of Argentina, it is call into question this assumption, looking to show the existence of some social and political devices which tend to settle the workers and ensure the working force locally.
