(Algunos) Usos del hueso del angelito. Nordeste argentino y Sur del Paraguay.

Abstract

Exponemos sobre algunas particularidades del uso ritual, mágico-religioso del hueso del angelito. Presentamos dos casos: (a) el uso del hueso en la imaginería del San La Muerte y (b) su utilización como talismán, protector. Abordamos la vigencia de la práctica de esculpir la imagen del San La Muerte en el hueso de un angelito y la utilización del hueso de criatura a modo de kurundu en el Noreste argentino y Sur del Paraguay, entre población de credo católico. Se han realizado entrevistas etnográficas, observaciones y recolecciones de primera mano en el periodo 2006-2013.

Some particularities of the ritual, magic-religious use of the bone of the little angel are explained. Two cases are presented: (a) use of the bone in the imagery of San La Muerte and (b) its use as a talisman and protector. The study approaches the validity of sculpting the image of San La Muerte in the bone of a little angel and use of the bone of a creature like kurundu in the Argentinean Northeast and the South of Paraguay, among catholic populations. Ethnographic interviews, observations and first-hand compilations were made during the 2006-2013 period.
