Esclavas peligrosas en la Córdoba tardo colonial

Abstract

Durante el último cuarto del siglo XVIII y en el marco de la aplicación de políticas de control social, la cárcel del cabildo de Córdoba se llenó de personas, entre ellas, mujeres. Procesadas por la justicia capitular, detenidas por el comisario del Santo Oficio, esclavas castigadas por sus amos, hijas y esposas desobedientes fueron a parar a la celda asignada a las mujeres por períodos considerables de tiempo. En esta ponencia intentaremos indagar en las políticas de control social destinadas a las mujeres esclavas de la jurisdicción, haciendo especial hincapié en las implementadas por la justicia secular y la inquisitorial local, dependiente del Tribunal de Lima.

During the last quarter of the 18th century and in the framework of the implementation of policies of social control, the prison of the cabildo of Córdoba is full of people, including women. Processed by the justice capitulate, detained by the Commissioner of the Inquisition, slaves punished by their masters, “disobedient” wives and daughters were to stop the cell assigned to women for considerable periods of time. In this paper we will try to investigate in the policies of social control aimed at women slaves of the jurisdiction, with special emphasis on the implemented by the secular justice and the inquisitorial local, dependent of the Court of Lima. This work will be done with documentary sources from the historical archive of the province of Córdoba (court records),Oficialia of the 6 July Palace (visit of prison books) and the archive of the Archbishopric of Córdoba (section Inquisition).
