Imaginario social y formas de hacer política en el interior bonaerense: un periódico socialista iluminando la noche política de Benito Juárez

Abstract

En este trabajo, intentaremos dar cuenta del mundo político de Benito Juárez, interior de la provincia de Buenos Aires, durante los años ´20 del siglo pasado por medio del estudio del periódico Claridad, el órgano oficial del Centro Socialista de esa localidad. En el primer tercio del siglo XX, la vida política de este partido del sudeste bonaerense, tuvo como principal figura a Pedro Díaz Pumará. Su liderazgo se mantuvo merced a una amplia red clientelar que incluyó a personas provenientes de diversos sectores sociales. “Claridad”, fundado en 1923, tuvo como objetivo repudiar las arbitrariedades que, según los socialistas, formaban parte del savoir faire político en este microcosmos.

In this paper, we will try to account for the political world of Benito Juárez, within the province of Buenos Aires, during the 20s of the last century through the study of “Claridad” newspaper, the official organ of the Socialist Center of the town. In the first third of the twentieth century, the political life of this party southeast of Buenos Aires, had as main figure Pumara Pedro Diaz. His leadership was maintained thanks to a wide network of clients that included people from various social sectors. In the period analyzed here, the preeminence of this leader seemed to find limits. “Claridad”, founded in 1923, was to repudiate the arbitrary, as socialists, were part of the political savoir faire in this microcosm.
