Ombú de Basualdo: nuevas intervenciones en un sitio a orillas del río Coronda (Departamento San Jerónimo, Santa Fe)

Abstract

En este trabajo se presentan las primeras intervenciones sistemáticas realizadas en el sitio Ombúde Basualdo, localizado en la ciudad de Coronda (Santa Fe), sobre la margen derecha del río homónimo. Desde las primeras décadas del siglo XX, este sitio y sus materiales fueron trabajados por diferentes autores, quienes realizaron especial hincapié en el análisis del registro cerámico recuperado. Casi un siglo después, se renovaron los trabajos arqueológicos en el sitio para obtener, por primera vez, materiales en estratigrafía. Con este objetivo, se realizaron dos excavaciones, en donde se llevaron a cabo sondeos y perfiles en diferentes sectores, lo cual permitió evaluar su potencial y delimitar el área en donde se concentra el registro arqueológico. Producto de tales intervenciones se recuperaron mayormente materiales cerámicos, pero también líticos y restos arqueofaunísticos, entre los que se destaca un artefacto óseo. Los resultados obtenidos en estas aproximaciones iniciales, así como también las prácticas de socialización del conocimiento que se vienen llevando a cabo desde diferentes proyectos, se describen en este trabajo con el objetivo de dar a conocer el sitio en el contexto arqueológico del área.

This paper presents the first systematic interventions carried out at the Ombú de Basualdo archaeological site, located in Coronda city (Santa Fe), on the right bank of the homonymous river. Since the first decades of the 20th century, this site and its materials have been studied by different authors who emphasized the analysis of the ceramic record. Almost a century later, we resumed archaeological work on the site to obtain stratigraphic materials for the first time. Therefore, we carried out two excavations there. In both, surveys and profiles were conducted in different sectors, which allowed assessing the potential of the site and delimiting the area in which the archaeological record is concentrated. In those interventions, mostly ceramic materials were recovered, but also lithic and archaeofaunistic remains, among which a bone artifact stands out. The initial results, as well as the actions taken to socialize the archaeological heritage within the framework of different projects, are described in this work with the aim of making the site known in the archaeological context of the area.
