  "dc.datacite.description": "This dataset contains the molecular evidence and phylogenetic analyses of five new species of land planarians (Geoplanidae) found in urban and peri-urban areas of Argentina (Buenos Aires, La Pampa) and Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul). It includes DNA sequence alignments of the mitochondrial marker Cytochrome c Oxidase subunit I (Cox-1) for the new species (Paraparaba pampeana sp. nov., Paraparaba platense sp. nov., Pasipha silvanae sp. nov., Pasipha rara sp. nov., and Paraparaba santiaguense sp. nov.) alongside reference taxa (Dolichoplana, Endeavouria, Choeradoplana, and other Pasipha species). The dataset provides the output files from species delimitation analyses using mPTP (multi-rate Poisson Tree Processes) and ASAP (Assemble Species by Automatic Partitioning), as well as a Bayesian phylogenetic tree inferred from the aligned sequences. These data reinforce the specific identity of the new species and highlight the biodiversity potential of anthropized habitats.",
