Taxonomías de la muerte: suicidio, incesto y reciprocidad en El Cajón (Catamarca, Argentina)

Abstract

Este artículo analiza las clasificaciones con que las personas identifican a los muertos en El Cajón, Catamarca, Argentina. A partir de tres casos concretos y representativos, el objetivo de este trabajo apunta a discutir que nociones como condenado o difunto, son consecuencia de interpretaciones que condensan categorías clave de la sociedad. La indagación sugiere que la construcción social del fallecido, la categoría clasificatoria que lo ordena y la travesía postmortem que se sigue en cada caso, descansan sobre el modo en que ocurre la muerte, pero también sobre la trayectoria de la vida, el devenir histórico y la realidad actual.

This article analyses the classifications through which dead people are identified in El Cajón, Catamarca, Argentina. Starting with three concrete and representative cases, the objective of this work aims to discuss that notions such as condenado o difunto, derive from interpretations condensing key categories in society. The inquest suggests that the social construction of the dead person, the qualifying category that orders it and the postmortem path that each case follows, lie on the way in which death occurs, but also on their life development, the historic becoming and the present reality.
