Filosofía y política en los orígenes. Lecturas de Ortega y Gasset

Abstract

Las primeras definiciones de los saberes universitarios comienzan a ensayarse, en la Argentina, entre los últimos años del siglo XIX y las primeras décadas del siguiente. Allí, la filosofía universitaria configura también sus fronteras. En el artículo nos detenemos en un debate puntual que permite reconocer parte de ese escenario de discusiones. Analizamos una publicación periódica reformista, Córdoba. Decenario de crítica social y universitaria, que sale a la luz en la ciudad de Córdoba en los años inmediatamente posteriores a la reforma universitaria. Y allí reconocemos algunos de los debates y preocupaciones vigentes en torno al rol de la intelectualidad, las funciones de la universidad y las categorías propias de la filosofía. Consideramos puntualmente la lectura que se hace los aportes de Ortega y Gasset y cómo estos contrastan con otras interpretaciones contemporáneas que sirven de base a la filosofía académica que se configura entonces.

The first definitions of university knowledge begin to be tested, in Argentina, between the last years of the nineteenth century and the first decades of the next. There, the university philosophy also shapes its borders. In the article, we attend to a specific debate that allows us to recognize part of this scene of discussions. We analyze a reformist periodical, Córdoba. Decenario de crítica social y universitaria that it is published in Córdoba in the years immediately following the university reform. There we recognize some of the current debates and concerns about the role of the intellectuals, the functions of the university and the proper categories of philosophy. We consider punctually the reading made of de Ortega y Gasset’s contributions and how its contrast with other contemporary interpretations that are the basis for the academic philosophy that is configured then.
