Trotskismo y guevarismo en la revolución cubana, 1959-1967

Abstract

Aunque Cuba fue, junto con Bolivia, uno de los dos países de Latinoamérica en los que el trotskismo tuvo mayor implantación en el movimiento obrero, su historia fue por mucho tiempo ignorada, en parte debido a la creciente adaptación de la dirección de la revolución cubana al estalinismo, y en parte debido a la identificación acrítica de las principales corrientes trotskistas internacionales con el castrismo, que hizo que pasaran por alto dicha adaptación. En el presente trabajo repasaremos la historia del trotskismo cubano durante el período bajo consideración, que se abre con el triunfo de los revolucionarios cubanos en 1959, e intentaremos mostrar la conexión existente entre la represión y eventual proscripción de los trotskistas cubanos y la marginalización de los partidarios del "Che" Guevara dentro del aparato del estado, como consecuencia de la creciente presión del estalinismo, producto a su vez del alineamiento de Cuba con la Unión Soviética en el marco de la Guerra Fría.

Although Cuba was, along with Bolivia, one of the two Latin American countries where Trotskyism had the largest presence in the labor movement, its history was long ignored, in part because of the growing adaptation of the leadership of the Cuban revolution to Stalinism, and partly due to the uncritical identification of the main international Trotskyist tendencies with Castroism, which made them overlook this adaptation. In this paper we will review the history of Cuban Trotskyism during the period under consideration, which opens with the triumph of the Cuban revolutionaries in 1959, and show the connection between the repression and eventual banning of the Cuban Trotskyists and the marginalization of the supporters of "Che" Guevara in the state apparatus, as a result of the growing pressure of Stalinim, which was in turn a product of the alignment of Cuba with the Soviet Union in the context of the Cold War.
