Una mirada sociológica sobre las creencias epistemológicas de los estudiantes

Abstract

Ante la escasez de estudios que incluyan una perspectiva social en la investigación sobre las creencias epistemológicas, este trabajo brinda líneas de análisis de los supuestos acerca del conocimiento que tienen los estudiantes, planteando vínculos con aspectos sociales que son constitutivos de las mismas. A la luz de los aportes de la teoría sociológica de Pierre Bourdieu y de Norbert Elías, se reflexiona acerca de las creencias epistemológicas a partir de algunos conceptos principales que proponen los autores. De este modo, se analizan las creencias epistemológicas teniendo en cuenta su génesis social, planteando que las mismas se encuentran moldeadas por las relaciones sociales y de poder que se presentan en el espacio social y se retroalimentan en las instancias educativas como contexto micro. Esta comunicación presenta la temática actualmente en estudio y una línea de investigación teórica que se podría incorporar para enriquecer el análisis habitual del constructo creencias epistemológicas desde una perspectiva sociológica.

Given the scarcity of studies that include a social perspective in research on epistemological beliefs, this paper provides lines of analysis of the assumptions about the knowledge that students have, establishing relations with social aspects that are constitutive of them. In the light of the contributions of the sociological theory of Pierre Bourdieu and Norbert Elías, this paper reflects on the epistemological beliefs from some main concepts that the authors propose. In this way, the epistemological beliefs are analyzed taking into account their social genesis, stating that these are shaped by the social and power relations that are presented in the social space and are fed back into the educational instances as a micro context. This work presents the subject matter currently under study and a line of theoretical research that could be incorporated to enrich the usual analysis of the epistemological belief construct from a sociological perspective.
