Los discursos expertos sobre crianza y maternidad: aproximación al caso español 1950-2010

Abstract

En este artículo nos proponemos analizar la evolución de las formas legítimas de maternidad (la “buena madre”) difundidas durante las últimas décadas en España. Por un lado, y a partir de una revisión bibliográfica sobre las aportaciones internacionales de mayor relevancia, presentamos un análisis comparativo sobre las distintas propuestas diseñando una tipología de modelos sobre maternidad y crianza; por otro lado, detectamos la plasmación de tales modelos en el caso español, a través de la divulgación de los discursos expertos sobre crianza y maternidad. Por último, tras estudiar las relaciones entre los modelos detectados y los estilos parentales de crianza, discutimos las consecuencias del modelo que aboga por una “maternidad natural” y una crianza del apego.

We analyze the evolution of the legitimate forms of motherhood (“the good mother”) spread during the last decades in Spain. On the one hand, and resulting from a bibliographical review on the most important international contributions, we present a comparative analysis on the different proposals designing a typology of models about motherhood and upbringing. On the other hand, we found the presence of such models in the Spanish case, as a result of spreading of the expert discourses on upbringing and motherhood. Finally, after studying the relationships between identified models and parenting styles, we discuss the consequences of a model that advocates a “natural motherhood” and an attachment theory.
