¿Una crisis de crecimiento? La expansión de la Unión Cívica Radical de Tucumán durante la "Revolución Libertadora"

Abstract

El artículo examina el derrotero de la Unión Cívica Radical de Tucumán entre el golpe de estado de 1955 y la división del partido en noviembre de 1956. Desde un enfoque centrado en la organización, analiza el impacto del derrocamiento del peronismo en la trayectoria del partido, la relación que entabló con el gobierno militar y sus estrategias para expandirse en la sociedad. Con ese fin adopta dos variables de análisis. Por un lado, la participación de los radicales en los planteles del gobierno militar y en las entidades de la sociedad civil, problema que signó las disputas internas y el perfil público del partido durante la etapa inicial de la “Revolución Libertadora”. Por otro lado, las modalidades que asumió la expansión territorial de la UCR mediante la creación de organismos de base, en un contexto de repliegue del peronismo y de fuerte competencia entre sus fracciones.

The article examines the course of the Radical Civic Union of Tucumán between the coup d'état of 1955 and the division of the party on November 1956. From an organization centered approach, it analyzes the impact of the overthrow of Peronism in the trajectory of the party, the relationship between the party and the military government and its strategies to expand over the society. To that end it adopts two analysis variables. On one hand, the participation of the radicals in the staff of the military government and in civil society institutions, problem that guided the internal disputes and the public profile of the party during the initial stage of the "Revolución Libertadora". On the other hand, the modalities assumed by the territorial expansion of the UCR trough the creation of grassroots organizations, in a context of withdrawal of Peronism and strong competition among its fractions.
