Relaciones laborales en la industria del cemento en Olavarría

Abstract

Es un rasgo característico de la ciudad de Olavarría la presencia de grandes plantas industriales dedicadas a la fabricación de cal y cemento. La instalación de la industria extractiva en la zona llevó a la iniciación del desarrollo económico-productivo local, atraer mano de obra inmigrante y al nacimiento del sistema de fábrica con villa obrera donde los trabajadores establecieron relaciones tanto en las áreas de producción como de reproducción de la fuerza de trabajo, estrechamente vinculadas entre sí. Esta investigación tendrá como objetivo investigar la formación y consolidación de un determinado tipo de relaciones sociales, que definimos como paternalista y más específicamente como el sistema de fábrica con villa obrera, desde el caso de tres empresas cementeras ubicadas en el partido de Olavarría, centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires entre 1940 y 1970, se analizó la emergencia y consolidación de una estructura productiva regional en particular, donde la percepción de los trabajadores empleados por la empresa fue dando forma a una identidad estrechamente vinculada a ella. El objetivo de la siguiente investigación se inicia de la idea de que el estudio de caso, más allá de sus características particulares, nos permite generar preguntas, buscar respuestas nuevas y ofrece abundante evidencia para discutir cuestiones generales relativas a la historia de los trabajadores argentinos y la historia de las empresas, a través del análisis de un determinado tipo de relaciones sociales, donde los trabajadores y los empresarios han sido actores centrales.

It is a characteristic feature of the city of Olavarría the presence of large industrial plants engaged in the manufacture of lime and cement. The installation of the extractive industry in the area led to the initiation of local economic-productive development, attracting immigrant labor and the birth of the factory system with working village where the workers established relationships both in the areas of production and reproduction of workforce. This research will aim to investigate the formation and consolidation of a certain type of social relations, which we define as paternalistic and more specifically as the factory system with working villa, from the case of three cement companies in the game Olavarria, center the Province of Buenos Aires between 1940 and 1970, the emergence and consolidation of a regional production structure was analyzed in particular, where the perception of the workers employed by the company was to shape an identity closely linked to it. The aim of the following investigation starts from the idea that the case study, beyond its particular characteristics, allows us to generate questions, seek new answers and provides abundant evidence to discuss general issues related to the history of Argentine workers and the history of the companies, through the analysis of a particular type of social relations, where workers and employers have been central actors.
