Evaluación de desempeño: Características y alcances en la industria argentina

Abstract

Objetivos: el presente artículo tiene dos objetivos. El primero de ellos es establecer el alcance que tiene el desarrollo de las evaluaciones de desempeño en las empresas industriales argentinas y el segundo determinar las características allí donde se llevan adelante tomado en consideración un conjunto de variables que posibilitan explicar su comportamiento. Metodología: se emplea una metodología de análisis cuantitativa a partir de la utilización de la base de datos de la tercera Encuesta Nacional de Dinámica de Empleo e Innovación, la cual permite generar una serie de indicadores vinculados a la evaluación de desempeño para poder relacionar con diferentes variables a partir de una serie de hipótesis de referencia. Para ello se utilizó la Prueba de Chi cuadrado y el coeficiente de residuos estandarizados, que establecen la relación entre variables y categorías respectivamente. Resultados: se observa una extensión limitada entre las empresas industriales argentinas. Allí donde se llevan adelante, prevalecen las de carácter individualizante disciplinaria. Limitaciones: estas se encuentran dadas por la propia encuesta en virtud que restringe la posibilidad de profundizar sobre las formas de evaluación de desempeño aplicada en las firmas. Conclusiones: se observa una heterogeneidad de situaciones en función de las hipótesis que se plantearon, tanto en torno a la realización como a las características asumidas.

Objectives: This article has two objectives. The first is to establish the scope of the development of performance appraisals in Argentine industrial companies and the second is to determine the characteristics that are assumed where they are carried out, taking into consideration a set of variables that make it possible to explain their behavior. Methodology: A quantitative analysis methodology is used based on the use of the database of the third National Survey of Employment and Innovation Dynamics, which allows generating a series of indicators linked to the performance appraisal in order to relate it to different variables based on a series of reference hypotheses. For this purpose, the Chi square test and the standardized residual coefficient were used, which establish the relationship between variables and categories respectively. Results: A limited extension is observed among Argentine industrial companies. Where they are carried out, those of an individualizing disciplinary nature prevail. Limitations: These are given by the survey itself by virtue of restricting the possibility of going deeper into the forms of performance evaluation applied in the firms. Conclusions: A heterogeneity of situations is observed depending on the hypotheses that were raised, both around the implementation and the assumed characteristics.
