Por otras narrativas patrimoniales: las huellas de la acción política del Comité Provincial del MEMCH de Concepción (1935-1953)

Abstract

A partir de un estudio de caso, este texto analiza una serie de espacios urbanos que, durante la primera mitad del siglo XX, fueron utilizados por el Comité Provincial del Movimiento Pro Emancipación de las Mujeres de Chile (MEMcH) en la ciudad de Concepción. De esta manera, se identificaron sus huellas en tanto prácticas de acción política urbana en esa ciudad y cuyos resultados surgen de la triangulación de diversas fuentes literarias, documentales, archivísticas, además de entrevistas. El estudio realizado de estos ámbitos es mucho más amplio y supera lo antes dicho; sin embargo, para propósitos de este texto se decidieron exponer aquellos que contaban con una mayor información. Desde esta perspectiva y así como respecto de los diversos comités instalados por el MEMcH en el Biobío, la acción y presencia de las memchistas locales no ha sido suficientemente difundida ni trabajada, por lo cual la hipótesis que se establece es que este ejemplo puede ser utilizado para visualizar cómo operan determinadas narrativas patrimoniales y cómo, para la construcción de la memoria urbana, aportan referencias que dan cuenta de su presencia, de sus acciones y contribuciones. Esto las constituiría no sólo como herencia y patrimonio no visible dentro de las ciudades si no también como forma de disputa frente a las memorias urbanas, evidenciando la influencia del sistema sexo-género en ello.

Based on a case study, this text analyzes a series of urban spaces that, during the first half of the twentieth century, were used by the Provincial Committee of the Movement for the Emancipation of Women of Chile (MEMCH) in the city of Concepción. In this way, their traces were identified as practices of urban political action in that city. The findings were derived from the triangulation of various literary, documentary and archival sources, as also interviews. The study of these areas is much broader and goes beyond the above mentioned; however, for the purposes of this text, it was decided to expose those that had more information. From this perspective, as also in consideration to the various committees installed by MEMCH in Biobío, the action and presence of local memchistas has not been sufficiently disseminated or worked. Thus, the hypothesis that guides this article is that this example can be used to visualize how certain patrimonial narratives operate and how, for the construction of urban memory, they provide references that account for their presence, their actions and contributions. This allows to conceive them not only as heritage and non-visible patrimony within the cities, but also as a form of dispute against urban memories, showing at the same time the influence of the sex-gender system in it.
