Reflexiones en torno al trinomio: Geografía, Cartografía y TIG

Abstract

El presente documento busca, por un lado, analizar el papel que juega la Geografía cuantitativa, la Cartografía y las Tecnologías de la Información Geográfica (TIG) en la producción y difusión del conocimiento geográfico digital; por otro lado, promover el debate y la reflexión en torno a los temas teórico-metodológicos que fundamentan las herramientas Geotecnológicas y sus aplicaciones. En el trabajo se reflexionó sobre la importancia de la integración de la Geografía, Cartografía y TIG, en la generación de conocimientos geográficos aplicables, así como su utilidad en los procesos de diagnóstico, planificación, gestión, y monitoreo de temáticas territoriales y ambientales.

This document seeks, on the one hand, to analyze the role played by Quantitative Geography, Cartography and Geographic Information Technologies (GIT) in the production and dissemination of digital geographic knowledge; on the other hand, promote debate and reflection on the theoreticalmethodological issues that support Geotechnological tools and their applications. The work reflected on the importance of the integration of Geography, Cartography and TIG, in the generation of applicable geographic knowledge, as well as its usefulness in the processes of diagnosis, planning, management, and monitoring of territorial and environmental issues.
