Los discursos de Kirchner y su vínculo con el republicanismo

Abstract

Los últimos veinte años de la política argentina estuvieron marcados fundamentalmente por dos conceptos, considerados dicotómicos: populismo y republicanismo. De esta forma, las gestiones o presidentes identificados como populistas se ubicaban en el polo opuesto a la protección de las instituciones; y lo mismo sucedía al revés, quienes eran definidos como republicanos eran calificados como enemigos de lo popular. Los discursos de Néstor Kirchner han sido asociados largamente a la noción de populismo, motivo por el cual cualquier nexo con los conceptos republicanos era impensado o poco probable.Sin embargo, en el presente trabajo buscamos interrogarnos respecto al dialogo y continuidad que la primera gestión kirchnerista mantiene respecto de dos conceptos característicos de la tradición republicana, como lo son el bien común y los valores morales/moralidad. Por un lado, nos interesa conocer los vínculos que Kirchner establece con estos conceptos; y por otro, observar cómo dialoga con los usos e interpretaciones que otros líderes políticos han hecho de estas nociones.

The last twenty years of the Argentinian political context have been strongly characterized by two concepts, considered dichotomic: populism and republicanism. Thus, the administrations or presidents identified as populists found themselves on the opposite side of the protection of institutions; and, the same happened vice versa: those identified as republicans were classified as enemies of the popular. Néstor Kirchner’s speeches have long been associated to the notion of populism. Because of this, any connection to the republican concepts was unthought-of or highly unlikely. Nevertheless, in the present research, we aim to question ourselves regarding the dialogue and the continuity the first kirchnerist administration keeps with regard to two distinctive concepts of the republican tradition, such as the common good and the moral values and/or the morality. On the one hand, we are interested in understanding the bonds Kirchner establishes with these concepts; and, on the other hand, in observing how he engages in a dialogue with the uses and interpretations made about these notions by other political leaders.
