Desvinculación y venta de fundos tucumanos del mayorazgo de Guazán

Abstract

El mayorazgo de Guazán, fundado por el general Luis José Díaz de Peña en 1768 con tierras en Catamarca, Salta y Tucumán, fue uno de los muy pocos mayorazgos del territorio argentino. La institución fue un objetivo de los planes español y criollo de desvinculación porque impedía la circulación de la propiedad inmueble. La tendencia desvinculadora y la estética urbanística se unieron para impulsar la libertad y venta de los solares de San Miguel de Tucumán considerados un obstáculo para el ornato de la ciudad y la pública moralidad. Este trabajo se basa en la representación presentada con ese fin por el procurador Lorenzo Domínguez y conservada en el Archivo Histórico de Tucumán.

The Guazan´s right of primogeniture founded by the general Luis Jose Diaz de Peña in 1768 with lands in Catamarca, Salta and Tucuman was one of the very few rights of primogeniture of the Argentine territory. The institution was an objective of the spanish and creole disentail projects because it hindered the traffic of the immovable property. Disentail tendency and urbanistic aesthetic jointed to further free and sale of the San Miguel de Tucuman fields judged hurtful to the ornament city and public morality. This work is based on the memorial presented for that by the attorney-general Lorenzo Domínguez and kept in the Tucuman Historic Archive.
