«Estando el fuego a las puertas». Acciones y representaciones de la justicia colonial (Jujuy, 1781)

Abstract

En este artículo reevaluamos una serie de acciones colectivas ocurridas en 1781 enla ciudad, los valles surorientales y la frontera con el Chaco de Jujuy. Reconstruimos paraello la intervención y las representaciones discursivas que autoridades coloniales de Jujuy yde la gobernación del Tucumán realizaron sobre el sitio a fuertes de la frontera, circulaciónde noticias y rumores sobre el Rey Inka en el Perú, reuniones y un inminente ataque a laciudad de Jujuy.

In this article we reevaluate a series of collective actions that took place in 1781 in the city, the southeastern valleys and the Chaco’s border of Jujuy Thus, we reconstruct the intervention and the discursive representations that colonial authorities of Jujuy and the governorate of Tucuman made about the attack of border forts, the circulations of information and rumors about the Rey Inka in Peru, gatherings, and an imminent attack on the city of Jujuy.
