Marechal: La edad de oro como proyección de la patria ideal

Abstract

Este trabajo propone un recorrido por las tres novelas de Marechal a partir del análisis de la tensión entre la edad de hierro y la edad de oro, dispositivo a partir del cual lo imaginario y lo real se imbrican para representar la patria. En los tres textos se observa una “tendencia alegorizante” (De Man) en donde los espacios imaginarios cumplen un rol clave y los personajes emprenden viajes como vías de purificación que son también una excusa para indagar espacios reales. En esta lectura del friso social que ofrecen los personajes, las novelas dejan entrever puntos en común con el discurso peronista, como la búsqueda de la unidad, de orden y de identificación del colectivo pueblo. Así, mientras Adán Buenosayres (1948) se hace eco del surgimiento del líder, El banquete de Severo Arcángelo (1965) intensifica la alegoría de la espera de la redención; finalmente, Megafón, o la guerra (1970) despliega los fundamentos ideológicos necesarios para concebir el proceso de liberación de la Patria.

This work proposes an itinerary through the three novels of Marechal from the analysis of the tension between the Iron Age and the Golden Age, a device from which the imaginary and the real come together to represent the Fatherland. In the three texts there is an "allegory´s tendency" (De Man) where the imaginary spaces affected a key role and the characters undertake trips as purification routes that are also an excuse to investigate real spaces. In this reading of the social frieze that the characters offer, the novels reveal points in common with the Peronist discourse, such as the search for unity, order and identification of people as a collective organism. Thus, while Adán Buenosayres (1948) echoes the emergence of the leader, El banquete de Severo Arcángelo (1965) intensifies the allegory of the wait for redemption; finally, Megafón, o la guerra (1970) exposes the ideological foundations necessary to conceive the process of liberation of the Fatherland.
