El ms. HC 397-573 de la Hispanic Society: algunas hipótesis de trabajo

Abstract

En este trabajo intentaremos mostrar algunas características distintivas del manuscrito de la Hispanic Society (HC 397/573). La idea principal es buscar elementos que permitan entender las razones por las que dicho testimonio fue redactado. Por un lado, analizaremos el contexto político-cultural con el objeto de entender las variables espacio-temporales implicadas en la producción del manuscrito. Por otro lado, proveeremos una descripción de la tradición de Partidas y el lugar que el neoyorkino tiene en ella. Asimismo, trataremos de establecer algunas aserciones que expliquen este complejo fenómeno textual. Nos centraremos en varios conceptos tales como interporlación, refundición, y compilación con el objetivo de brindar algunas hipótesis sobre este testimonio y su condición textual.

This paper aims to show some characteristics of the Hispanic Society’s manuscript (HC 397/573). e main idea is to seek out elements that could provide a full understanding of the reason why this manuscript was written. On the one hand, we will analyze the political and cultural context in order to understand the Spatio-temporal variables involved in the production of the manuscript. On the other hand, we will provide a description of Partidas’ tradition and the place that the one from New York has in it. Even more, we will try to make some assertions to explain such a complex textual phenomenon. We will focus on several concepts such as interpolation, recast, and compilation in order to give some hypotheses about this manuscript and its textual condition
