Estimación de la subhuella de ambiente construido del partido General Pueyrredón, Argentina

Abstract

Las ciudades ocupan menos del 1 % de la superficie de la tierra y albergan a más de la mitad de la población; esta modifica e impacta el territorio al que acondiciona para el desarrollo de sus actividades, al convertir suelo natural o rural en ambiente construido. El objetivo del presente trabajo es estimar y analizar la subhuella de ambiente construido de Mar del Plata y del partido General Pueyrredón. Los pasos metodológicos seguidos fueron los siguientes: a) estimar la superficie máxima que podría alcanzar el indicador; b) determinar la subhuella de ambiente construido y superficie impermeabilizada a nivel de partido y ciudad y c) comparar la situación del partido de General Pueyrredón con la de otros partidos bonaerenses. Los resultados muestran que el habitante del partido en estudio dispone de una superficie urbana de 0,04 ha/cap, posee una subhuella de 0,031 ha/cap, de la cual el 61,3 % se encuentra impermeabilizada.

Cities occupy less than 1 % of the surface of the planet and are home to more than half of the world’s population which modifies and impacts territory by turning natural and/ or rural land into built environment. The aim of this paper is to estimate and analyze the sub-footprint of the built environment in the City of Mar del Plata and the County of General Pueyrredón. The methodological steps followed were: i) estimate the maximum surface attainable by the indicator; ii) determine the sub-footprint of built environment and waterproofed surface at the local level; and iii) compare the situation of the County of General Pueyrredón to other counties in the Province of Buenos Aires. Results show that the average inhabitant of General Pueyrredón occupies an urban surface of 0.04 ha/cap, and a sub-footprint of 0.031 ha/cap, of which 61.3 % is waterproofed.
