Pasado y presente de las investigaciones Arqueológicas en el sitio Las Tejas (Santa Fe, Argentina)

Abstract

El sitio Las Tejas, localizado en llanura aluvial del Paraná (centro-este de la Provincia de Santa Fe), es emblemático en tanto refleja los diferentes momentos de investigación en el área del Nordeste argentino. Este yacimiento, que presentó materiales de grupos cazadores-recolectores del Holoceno tardío, fue estudiado en diferentes períodos. Es por esto que resulta un caso ejemplar en tanto permite visualizar los distintos paradigmas de abordaje, y a su vez, la necesidad de dar continuidad y ampliar -de manera sostenida en el tiempo- a los estudios en la zona. Considerando lo expuesto, el objetivo de este trabajo es presentar los antecedentes de investigación de Las Tejas, para luego evaluar -a la luz de las nuevas evidencias obtenidas producto de excavaciones recientes-, aquellas observaciones que fueron realizadas por diferentes arqueólogos en diferentes momentos del siglo XX.

The Las Tejas site constitutes an emblematic place in the alluvial plain of the Paraná River and reflects different moments in the regional research history. It presents materials of hunter-gatherers of the late Holocene and it has been investigated in different periods by several researchers. Because of this, the site becomes a particular study case and allows us to visualize the different paradigm of approach, as well as the need of continuing the study in the area. Then, the objective of this paper is to present the background of the archaeological research in Las Tejas, and secondly to evaluate –at the light of the evidence obtained in the recent digs- those observations proposed by archaeologists in different moments of the 20th century.
