El patrimonio cultural público: herramientas para su gestión en ciudades pequeñas y medianas

Abstract

Este libro surgió de la convicción de que el patrimonio público es un recurso disponible para mejorar la calidad de vida de las comunidades. Debido a ello y a raíz de observar que para ciudades de escala intermedia o pequeña escasean manuales específicos que guíen el manejo sostenible de bienes, este trabajo busca aportar algunas herramientas y conceptos útiles para colaborar con quienes se encuentran en la tarea de velar por el patrimonio. Nos interesamos en delimitar los conceptos y las acciones básicas necesarias para reflexionar sobre el diagnóstico y la gestión, atendiendo a su complejidad pero brindando una explicación llana del proceso, con la intención de hacerlo accesible a diferentes actores interesados en el patrimonio.

This book arose from the conviction that public heritage is an available resource to improve the quality of life of the communities. Because of that and as a result of observing that for intermediate-scale or small cities there are few specific manuals that guide the sustainable management of cultural heritage, this work search for some useful tools and concepts to collaborate with those who are in the task of safeguarding the heritage. We delimitate the concepts and basic necessary actions to think over about the diagnosis and management of governmental heritage, taking into account its complexity but providing a definite explanation of the process, with the intention of making it accessible to different stakeholders interested in heritage. In this sense, guidelines are provided to bring managers the basic concepts and main processes of equity.
