Algunas consideraciones sobre la historiografía actual desde una aproximación polemológica a un siglo de conflictos

Abstract

Tomando como base la obra La historia como campo de batalla del historiador Enzo Traverso, este artículo presenta una reflexión sobre las relaciones entre intelectualidad y política, sus paradojas y contradicciones en la "era de los extremos" (Hobsbawm) así como la conexión entre las guerras totales, los genocidios y el advenimiento de la "guerra civil mundial" sin fines ni límites definidos. Acentuando, además, la importancia de la historización y la necesidad de objetividad ante el predominio de la memoria en la historiografía actual. Para ello, completamos las ideas orientadoras y motivadoras de Traverso con otros aportes bibliográficos específicos y conclusiones propias.

Based on the work History as a battlefield (spanish edition) of the historian Enzo Traverso, this article presents a reflection on the relations between intellectuality and politics, its paradoxes and contradictions in the “era of extremes” (Hobsbawm) as well as the connection between total wars, genocides and the advent of the “world civil war” without definite ends or limits. Furthermore, emphasizing the importance of historicization and the need for objectivity in the face of the predominance of memory in current historiography. For this, we complete the orienting and motivating ideas of Traverso with other bibliographical main contributions and our own conclusions.
