Articulación entre la escala global y local: caso: Fórum de las Culturas, Barcelona, 2004

Abstract

Barcelona se ha convertido en un nodo de la red de ciudades y el Fórum de las Culturas ha sido la última intervención urbana que ha buscado mantenerla en dicha red. Se pretende comprender la realidad de estos nodos a fin de que la planificación física de los mismos incluya las características globales sin ir en detrimento de las locales. Para ello se propone analizar y evaluar los efectos espaciales que ha tenido la articulación entre lo local y lo global en Barcelona a través del Fórum de las Culturas, desde un punto de vista teórico y a partir de tres campos: el económico, el infraestructural y el morfológico. Los resultados muestran que el proyecto ha permitido compatibilizar la permanencia en la red global de ciudades sin negar la ciudad local.

Barcelona has become a node of the network of cities and the Forum of Cultures has been the last urban intervention trying to keep it in that network. It is expected to understand the reality of these nodes in order to include global characteristics within physical planning without detriment of the local ones. To achieve this objective, to analyze and evaluate special effects that articulation among the global and local has had in Barcelona through the Forum of Cultures is proposed from a theoretical point of view and starting from three fields: the economic, the infrastructural and the morphologic. Results have shown that the project has combined the stay in the global network of cities without denying local town.
