Los recursos vegetales de los Rankülches en la Frontera Sur

Abstract

En este trabajo observamos la relación que tuvieron los Rankülches del Mamül Mapu con los recursos vegetales. La tarea se llevó a cabo a partir del diario de viaje de Luis De la Cruz, parte de las memorias de Santiago Avendaño y entrevistas realizadas por Héctor Greslebien. Los autores elegidos presentan diferencias cuantitativas y cualitativas sustanciales, a partir de las cuales se pudo complementar las diferentes observaciones realizadas. Las derivaciones de esta comunicación se incluyen en un proyecto mayor, que intenta observar la relación que tuvieron los pueblos originarios con los vegetales, en el sur de Córdoba y San Luis, a lo largo de toda su trayectoria histórica. Los resultados permitieron observar la utilización tanto de recursos vegetales silvestres como domésticos. El número de especies mencionadas es escaso en relación a lo expresado por diversas investigaciones arqueológicas. Sin embargo, la variedad de usos detectados fue amplia, abarcando un espectro que va desde el alimenticio al uso como ofrendas religiosas. Finalmente, la importancia que tuvieron los vegetales para el pueblo ranquel queda constatada en la centralidad que los mismos tienen en las rogativas, como así también su uso en diferentes tipos de ceremonias religiosas.

In this work we observe the relationship that the Rankülches of the Mamül Mapu held with the vegetal resources. The task is based on Luis De la Cruz‟s travel diary, on Santiago Avendaño‟s memoirs and on interviews conducted by Héctor Greslebin. The chosen authors introduce significant quantitative and qualitative differences, from which it was possible to complement varied observations made. The derivations of this communication are included in a larger project, which aims at observing the relationship that the native peoples held with the vegetal world, in the south of Córdoba and San Luis, throughout all their historical trajectory. The results showed the use of both wild and domestic vegetal resources. The number of species mentioned was low in relation to what is expressed by several archaeological investigations. However, the variety of uses detected was broad, encompassing a spectrum ranging from nourishment to religious offerings. Finally, the importance of plants for the Rankülches results evident in their centrality in prayers, as well as in their use during different types of religious ceremonies.
