''Quiero ser un servidor'': El dispositivo de legitimación del liderazgo de Eduardo Duhalde como presidente provisional (Argentina, 2002)

Abstract

En este artículo se estudian las dinámicas que contribuyeron a que el gobierno de Eduardo Duhalde trocara su débil legitimidad de origen –por no haber sido electo por el voto ciudadano y por acceder a la presidencia en un contexto de extrema inestabilidad– en una cierta legitimidad de ejercicio, durante su etapa inicial (primera mitad del año 2002). Con este objeto se analizan los elementos discursivos que configuraron su liderazgo como presidente provisional en una coyuntura signada por un proceso de crisis de legitimidad de la palabra política. Tres dimensiones del discurso de Duhalde constituyen el foco de análisis: las imágenes de sí proyectadas en sus intervenciones públicas, el dispositivo de mediatización de su palabra que supuso la puesta al aire del programa radial “Conversando con el presidente”, y el modo de construcción del tiempo de lo común y, con él, de gestión del vínculo con la alteridad política. Estas dimensiones se analizan en un corpus conformado por discursos oficiales y transcripciones del referido ciclo radial, en el que se identifican la proyección de un ethos híbrido pastoral-docente, el ensayo de un formato de lazo representativo de proximidad no interactiva y una gestión pendular de exclusión/inclusión de la alteridad política del tiempo comunitario.

The aim of this paper is to study the dynamics that helped Eduardo Duhalde to achieve a certain degree of legitimacy of exercise in the course of the early stages of his government (January-July 2002), for which he hadn’t been elected by the citizenry and that went by in a context of extreme instability. To fulfil this objective, three dimensions were studied: the images of the self that were projected in Duhalde’s discourse, the device of mediatization of his word that the airing of the radio show “Chatting with the president” entailed, the bond with the citizenry this implied, and the way of construction of the common time (and, through it, a certain bond with political otherness). These dimensions are analyzed within a corpus of official speeches and transcriptions of the aforementioned radio show; as a result, we have identified the hybrid ethos of the pastor-teacher, the rehearsal of a representative bond format of non-interactive proximity, and a pendulum scheme of exclusion/inclusion of the political otherness from the community time.
