La visita de De Gaulle a la Argentina en 1964 y las repercusiones en las fuerzas políticas internas

Abstract

Charles de Gaulle realizó en 1964 un extenso viaje por diez países latinoamericanos. En ese momento, gobernaba el país Arturo Humberto Illia, perteneciente a la Unión Cívica Radical del Pueblo (UCRP), en un contexto de proscripción del peronismo. El primer mandatario francés estuvo en Argentina entre el 3 y el 6 de octubre de ese año. Este artículo estudia las repercusiones de esa visita en las fuerzas políticas internas. La visita constituye un hecho histórico significativo para comprender el devenir de la inserción internacional del país y los debates internos al respecto, porque posibilita analizar los posicionamiento de distintas fuerzas económicas, sociales y políticas.

Charles De Gaulle realized in 1964 an extensive trip for ten Latin-American countries. In this moment, Arturo Humberto Illia was governing the country, belonging to the Civic Radical Union of the People (UCRP), in a context of proscription of the Peronism. De Gaulle was in Argentina for three days the first week of October. This article studies the repercussions of this visit in the political internal forces. The visit constitutes a historical significant fact to understand to develop of the international insertion of the country and the internal debates in the matter, because it makes possible to analyze the positions of different economic, social and political forces.
