Ingreso de Sus scrofa al noreste del Chubut (República Argentina): nuevos registros y problemática de conservación

Abstract

En esta contribución se reportan nuevas localidades de ocurrencia del chancho jabalí Sus scrofa (Linnaeus 1758) para el noreste del Chubut, Argentina. Estos registros incrementan en 135 km lineales hacia el sudeste la extensión geográfica de esta especie en la Patagonia. Los nuevos registros fueron obtenidos a partir de evidencias directas, indirectas y reportes de pobladores. Asimismo, se discuten brevemente las amenazas para la conservación de los ecosistemas nativos y las actividades productivas que se desarrollan en la zona como consecuencia del ingreso del jabalí.

In this contribution, new localities of occurrence for the wild boar Sus scrofa (Linnaeus 1758) are reported for northeastern Chubut, Argentina. These records increase the geographic extension of this species in Patagonia by 135 linear km to the southeast. The new records were obtained from direct and indirect evidence, and reports from local residents. Likewise, we brief y discuss threats to the conservation of native ecosystems and productive activities that take place in the area as a consequence of the entry of the wild boar
