El aporte de la migración chilena a la formación de una nueva clase obrera en el noreste de Chubut: 1956-1989

Abstract

Buscamos conocer el desarrollo de Chubut desde la instalación del proyecto de industrialización subsidiada por el Estado, observando cómo se formó una fracción de la clase obrera argentina: aquella que se construye en el noreste de Chubut desde fines de la década del ´50.Se impulsó un parque industrial textil, fábrica de aluminio primario y plantas de procesamiento pesquero, pretendiendo consolidar el ejercicio de la soberanía nacional sobre territorios poco poblados. Desde el Estado procuraban construir una clase obrera que se consustanciara con los objetivos "nacionales" y no estuviese "politizada". Observamos cómo se conforma esta nueva clase obrera, con gran importancia de los inmigrantes originarios del vecino país de Chile.

We tried to understand the process of formation of a new working class in north-eastern Chubut, central region of the argentinean Patagonia, from the imposition of an industrialization project subsidized by the state, covering the period 1956-1989. In this process was important the contribution made by workers from the neighbouring country of Chile, who incorporated their experience and traditions of struggle and organization in that construction. In the region was formed a textile industrial park, primary aluminium factory and fi sh processing plants, aiming the state power, consolidate the exercise of national sovereignty over under populated territories. It thus sought to build a working class who shared the “national” objectives and were not “politicized”. Chilean-born workers were part of the resistance to this state project.
