La alteridad y el exotismo en clave patrimonial turística. Aportaciones de la Antropología

Abstract

El campo del patrimonio cultural inmaterial y sus vínculos cada vez más estrechos con el turismo cultural no son asuntos atractivos para la antropología. Si bien, el surgimiento del patrimonio inmaterial ha ido de la mano de la legitimidad de esta disciplina en relación a dicha temática, esto ha sucedido sobre todo en el ámbito de la práctica profesional. El presente texto reflexiona sobre las aportaciones metodológicas y epistemológicas en su mayoría críticas que ha hecho la antropología en relación al campo del turismo cultural, analizando algunos procesos de patrimonialización particularmente de patrimonio inmaterial. Colocar el ojo sobre ejemplos latinoamericanos es un desafío pero también un intento por comprender estas relaciones complejas

The fields of intangible cultural heritage and their increasingly close relationships with cultural tourism are not attractive to anthropology. While the emergence of intangible heritage has coupled the legitimacy of the discipline on this topic, this process has occurred mostly in the professional practice. This text reflects upon the (mostly critical) epistemological and methodological contributions anthropology has made to the field of cultural tourism, analyzing some processes of heritagisation – namely of intangible heritage. The focus on Latin-American case-studies is a challenge but also an attempt to understand these complex relationships.
